DOLPHINS  06-07 REVIEW

 

This has been a good year for the second team, one of the best for a few years and if it was not for several injuries and unavailability’s at key times we may have finished even higher in the Canterbury shield.  

 

We finished 3rd in the league (same as the first team), our highest ever position, which is a credit to the talent and resolve of the second team squad. 

 

We had some notable victories against league winners Hertford and away to Canterbury, North Walsham and Barking.  Victories in which the true bond of the players shone through with a willingness to give all for their team mates.   

 

I look at the season overall and see an improvement in the whole 2nd team squad with several young players coming through and potentially staking a claim for 1st team berths.  I believe that these shoots of growth only bode well for the future of the first team.

 

Overall I am very proud of second team and what we have achieved over the season.  I hope this continues next year and believe that we can finish even higher in the leagues, both firsts and seconds.  Finally, I would like to thank all players that have turned out for the seconds this year. All have given their best and this is all that a manager/coach could ask for.
