DYLAN RAUBENHEIMER WINS FPA PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Dylan
was first registered for 1st team action in 1996, having had a
distinguished junior career in his native South Africa, where he played
provincial rugby for Western Province under 19s, and also played for South
Africa under 19s. He immediately made an impact with Havant, where his
typical South African hard running style made him an instant favourite at
'the Lane', and he soon established himself in the 1st team line up. Previous winners of the Gordon Sparshatt Cup are:

PETER WHELAN WINS YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The following is the Academy Staff 'citation' : Peter is 18 years old and has played at Havant since he was 9 or 10. He was the captain of his year group from the under 13's to under 17's and has represented the county at under 15's, 16's, 17's and 18's. This season, Peter made the divisional trials, but did not get through ... my view is that was their loss and our gain. Peter has been a great leader on and off the field and his try count season by season has remained high. Peter leads by example with consistent high quality performances. Peter is the Richard Hill of the Academy, totally reliable in doing his own job and can be counted on to be supporting his team mates either in attack of defence. All round a excellent back row forward and a very nice young man as well.

ADAM KING WINS THE DR RUTHERFORD CUP
Adam's efforts in securing new players, throughout the year, has been the most significant factor in turning last year's 'nearly' season, into this year's successful one! At the beginning of the season the loss of Steve Boydell, Matt Kell and Nick French from a good side looked ominous for this season's campaign. But by encouraging the likes of Anton Petzer, Jon Barfoot, Andy Short and Paddy Conlon to become part of the 1st XV squad, Adam more than 'filled the holes' and the outcome of Saturday's game was the result. Well done Adam, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke!
